Gallery Talk - Adam Magyar: Transformer Station 2013.04.06

Gallery Talk by Adam Magyar:

Kontinuum: Looking at the human quest through unconventional photographic devices

April 12, 6pm
Admission free

Internationally-recognized photographic innovator Adam Magyar will speak about his work at a special event in the Main Gallery of the Transformer Station on Friday, April 12 at 6PM. Three of his works from the series Stainless are currently on view in the show Light of Day. These large-scale images of subway cars from New York, Paris and Tokyo are photographed while hurtling down subway tunnels and yet they appear to be frozen in a quiet timeless space. Typical of Magyar's work, these images reveal the complexity of modern life and challenge our identities as individuals in the seething urban crowd. Adam Magyar will share his work as a photographer and filmmaker who uses high-tech digital tools and cameras adapted from industrial applications to examine the human "factory".

This program is sponsored by The Friends of Photography, the photography affinity group of The Cleveland Museum of Art.

Beer, wine and refreshments will be served with donations accepted for the benefit of the Transformer Station. Admission is free.
