Saturday, March 23, 8:00 p.m. CONCERT: No Exit New Music Ensemble with Carlton Vickers A program of avant-garde music In their fourth season, No Exit welcomes special guest Carlton Vickers who will be performing two pieces by Brian Ferneyhough—one of them a North American premiere—for solo flute. Artistic director Timothy Beyer remarked, "Ferneyhough, who is of course a preeminent figure in the New Complexity movement [in music], has written some of the most challenging music out there in regards to how difficult it can be for a performer to both learn and play. Carlton however, does a truly masterful job. He is a rather special sort of musician and we are just thrilled to have him in town doing these concerts with us [No Exit]. I should also add that Ferneyhough's music is most definitely a unique experience for the listener." This Event is FREE and open to the public. |
